Cut

Protected by a worldwide patent, a Royal Asscher Cut is inimitable in more ways than one:

Royal Asscher surpasses industry standards by selecting from the World’s top 5% of rough diamonds. A master craftsman then sets to work exposing the unique beauty that lies within a Royal Asscher Cut.

Creating a Royal Asscher Cut requires precise technical craftsmanship. One can never underestimate the significance of a sharp critical human eye and a masterful hand to draw out Royal Asscher Cut’s fire and scintillation.  Such is the level of expertise required, that there are less than seventy five people in the world who can polish to Royal Asscher’s exact specifications. Indeed, it takes an experienced polisher at least three months of intense training to learn the skills required to master the Royal Asscher Cut. Royal Asscher is proud of its team of highly skilled diamond polishers.

A Royal Asscher Cut can only be cut from an octahedral shaped rough diamond crystal, which is sawn above the middle part of the diamond, known as the girdle. This crucial action sacrifices 15% more of the rough diamond and achieves a higher crown. The high crown gives the Royal Asscher Cut it’s greater dispersion of color and light, and the superior brilliance in comparison to a standard square-emerald ‘Asscher’.

Each Royal Asscher Cut diamond is perfectly symmetrical, it’s proportions have to fall within strict parameters, so every facet is measured for absolute accuracy. The Royal Asscher cut has 74 facets (vs the square-emeralds 58) and a high crown, each diamond has an entrancing endless mirrored effect that simultaneously blazes with a kaleidoscope of color – that is the Royal difference.

The Royal Asscher Cut is the spectacular result of gemological and technological excellence.
